Jouffre — North American Headquarters
Long Island, New York
When Jouffre — the celebrated Parisian atelier known for its mastery of artisanal upholstery — established their North American headquarters on Long Island, they needed a space that could hold their standards. Andrés Cortés was appointed to translate Jouffre's design values directly into the architecture of their new home.

That meant listening closely before designing. Jouffre's sensibility is built on clean lines, considered proportions, and a deep respect for both traditional and contemporary craft. The space had to reflect that — not interpret it, not impose upon it.

New skylights were designed to draw natural light deep into the floorplate. The minimalist sawtooth geometry immerses the workspace in daylight, sharpening the clarity of colors and textures — precisely the conditions a team working with fine fabrics and finishes requires. Light here isn't atmospheric. It's functional.
Equally considered is how the space supports the work itself. Extensive storage keeps the studio clear and focused, with samples accessible when needed and out of the way when not.
Design rooms are equipped with ample pin-up space, built around how Jouffre's team actually develops and presents their work. Every decision flows from a simple discipline: understand how a space is used, then design it to make that use effortless.
The result is a headquarters that earns the trust of a client with exacting taste — ordered, luminous, and quietly expressive of the craft practiced within it.
