Andrés Ulises Cortés
Principal Architect
Andrés is a design and construction industry veteran. After 23 years managing the design through construction phases of projects, he has a proven track record of detailing and executing extraordinary buildings and structures. His strengths are due to his long-term partnerships with all players in the construction team, from clients to carpenters.
Andrés has worked across the design and construction disciplines. He led the design and construction of exclusive crafted residences for several key clients, including director Darren Aranofsky, actor Rachel Weisz and fashion editor Hamish Bowles.
During the construction phase, Andres works closely with fabricators to find cost-effective solutions to complex design issues. His work is often seamlessly integrated with CNC cutting and forming operations. After Agencie won the Urban Shed International Competition, Andrés founded Urban Umbrella in partnership with a private equity firm, and successfully deployed the innovative canopy system throughout New York City.
